Day 23 of 365 - Biscotti

1/23

So I decided that I wanted to make special biscotti for my pals back at the old office.  As much as I don't want to go back, I really miss that place.  I can't wait till they get there.  They love getting goodies.  They work for an office that is based on strong Italian roots, so what better treat than these.  Not to mention the ever so amazing coffee machine in the breakroom that I miss dearly.  The perfect match!

Day 22 of 365

1/22

Today I put some finishing touches on some tiles since I'll be taking them to church today.  I am very excited and yet again I didn't take pictures.  I wanted you to see all that were going in but I do have a picture of a few.

Day 21 of 365

1/21
Today I put the finishing touches on the double layer cake for Grandpa Bob and Aunt Marie.  As well as the mini gluten free cake.  I made them simple since it was for both male and female.  Plain white with black ribbon.  I am very disappointed that I did not take a picture of this one.  Shame on me.  It was very tasty though.

Day 14 of 365

1/14

So I've been craving biscotti lately.  Today I made almond biscotti.  Yum!  They are minis.  They are only about 2" long.  I melted my chocolate and began to drizzle when I decided to make a special one for my Danny.  I wrote "I love you" in white chocolate.  Came out pretty good so I decided to make a few more.  As I was making them, it came to me...These would be an awesome item for my Etsy store.  Of course I made the rest with all different sayings and decorations.  This was a very fun project and look forward to adding this one of a kind to my store.

Day 13 of 365

1/13
More glass tiles.  I know you're tired of hearing it right.  Maybe this isn't what my 365 is suppose to be about but it works for the time being and it won't always be the same thing.

Ok so I'm not following my "365" book completely but that's ok.  Today I made two scrabble tile pieces and started a blue infinity scarf.

Day 3 of 365

1/3
I used my "365" book today.  Today's challenge was to use only the materials in my immediate environment to make something that fits in the palm of my hand.  Using yarn I made my first crocheted flower.  I decided to try a few different methods.  Cute!

Day 2 of 365

I guess I was just in another scarf mood.

Catch up time... Day 1 of 365

Lately I've been making scarves because of the cold weather.  Well I made many as Christmas presents but now it was my turn.  I made myself a longer black and cream colored one.  I love it.

The Beginning of my 365

My husband gave me the idea, or should I say, he had the idea and tried to push me to do this sometime ago.  To create at least one thing everyday.  That meant every single day.  No breaks.  He knows how much I love to do my crafts and is always feeding me with these awesome ideas, that I for whatever reason take forever to make them happen.  Well not anymore.  This is it, 2011 is my year!  I am officially taking on that challenge of making at least one krafty kreation per day.  Sounds tough I know but I know I can do this.  I've recently found a book to help push me along.  I wasn't going to buy it because there is a few things suggested that I either already do or I just don't have the interest in doing.  Again, my husband said if I was really going to take on this challenge I needed a book to have as a guide and if I'm lacking in ideas I could always refer to the book .  Why is he always right?  So I bought it.  "365   Make Something Everyday and Change Your Life" by Noah Scalin.  Just a few pages in, I know it's perfect for me.

Now I intend to blog about my progress and my projects.  Although I may not blog about it everyday, I will keep a daily creativity journal and keep the blog up to date on completed projects.  My hopes are that this challenge will make me more consistent, organized, and so much more.  Overall it's going to help me discover some inner talent screaming to come out.

** Noah Scalin's "365" is full of  project suggestions that take you outside the mediums you're used to.  Feel free to check out the progress of others @ MakeSomething365.com

I have the vision of victory and God's grace will see me through.
